Outlaw Anglia | Dragstalgia 2023 | Santa Pod Raceway

A huge field of Outlaw Anglia's converged on Santa Pod for Dragstalgia 2023, Europe's premier nostalgia drag racing event. John Willard having travelled all the way from Australia with 'Aussie Outlaw'.
After running some great times at the previous two events - Sportsman Nationals and Summer Nationals - on what was supposedly a soft tune, John's plan was to 'go for it' at Dragstalgia.

Unfortunately, the car suffered engine damage during Q1 en route to a new Outlaw Anglia record ET of 6.713s. This marked the end of the Aussie Outlaw's UK excursion although John has vowed to return with the car in the future.

Dalton Scarlett, in 'Hooligan', ultimately won the event in what was considered quite an upset against the 'Flyin' Fyfer' Colin Millar.

Other highlights included; a new PB for speed for Simon Barlow at 198.13 mph (Q1), John O' Sullivan's wild ride whilst trying to get to grips with the track (Q2), a new PB for Dalton Scarlett of 7.427s (E1), and a new PB for Ben Rushworth of 8.153s (E1).

Other notable moments were the return of Jon Webster running a fantastic 7.168s, Lee Taylor making good progress in the new 'Outlaw' and running a 9.099s in a time trial and drag racing legend, Al O' Connor's run to the semi-finals in 'Al's Gasser'.
