Atrio is a major mixed-use commercial development in central Bogotá comprising two towers – North and South surrounded by a large open public space at the entrance level linking to an existing Convention Centre which will be refurbished and extended.

The project delivery is in three phases with the recently completed first phase, Atrio North Tower, offering 46 floors (200.6 metres) creating more than 65,000 m² of flexible office space, 4,600 m² of public services and 1,800 m² of retail. The third phase, Atrio Tower South, will offer: 55,000 m² of flexible office space, a 210 room 5-star hotel, 81 luxury apartments, restaurants and a public observatory at its top.

The aim and challenge of the project is to favour the cohesion of the Centro Internacional -a busy area in Bogotá. The solution is Atrio North Tower’s relationship with the street level, it is designed to encourage public use by channelling expected pedestrian flows of 80,000 daily towards the new development.

With a diagonal top inspired by the backdrop of the Cerros Orientales mountains, the towers frame the view of them, helping orientation at pedestrian level and emphasising the proximity of nature to the city.
