In 2020, the AIDS Memorial Quilt returned to San Francisco, where it was created more than 30 years ago. The 48,000 panels of the Quilt are now under the stewardship and care of the National AIDS Memorial. This beautiful aerial video shows the first official ceremonial unfolding of the Quilt in the heart of the National AIDS Memorial Grove. It is a powerful display of two symbols of the AIDS pandemic coming together as one to ensure the story of AIDS – the lives lost, the pain, the activism, the fear and the hope -- are never forgotten.
