"Rhythm of the Rain" is a song performed by The Cascades, released in November 1962. It was written by Cascades band member John Claude Gummoe. It rose to number three on the US pop chart on March 9, 1963, and spent two weeks at number one on the US Easy Listening chart. Billboard ranked the record as the No. 4 song of 1963

Mine is an instrumental cover using my Alan Brason custom Strat fitted with Kinman FV-HMS pickups on Neck position.
The Acoustic solo is played on my Gibson Hummingbird custom quilt with an LR Baggs Anthem internal microphone.

The backing track came from Karaoke version and I downloaded it one semitone lower than the default to be in the key of “E” to match the Cascades version.
There is an organ and Glockenspiel solo on the BT so I also downloaded a copy with these instruments muted and patched that part into the main BT which then allows your own solo to be added.

Sound recorded in Cubase SX6 via my Alesis Quadraverb Q2 with EFTP patch 0-36.
Video made with 3x Sony SR12 camcorders and edited with the cubase sound in Sony Vegas pro 9.

Hope you enjoy “Rhythm of the rain”

LYRICS

Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again
The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart
Rain please tell me now does that seem fair
For her to steal my heart away when she don't care?
I can't love another when my hearts somewhere far away
The only girl I care about has gone away
Looking for a brand new start
But little does she know that when she left that day
Along with her she took my heart
Rain won't you tell her that I love her so
Please ask the sun to set her heart aglow
Rain in her heart and let the love we knew start to grow
Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain
Telling me just what a fool I've been
I wish that it would go and let me cry in vain
And let me be alone again
Oh, listen to the falling rain
Pitter patter, pitter patter
Oh, oh, oh, listen to the falling rain
Pitter patter, pitter patter
