Highlights from the Montclair State University Graduate School Commencement include a moving address from New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal who urges graduates to commit to a fight against hate. “Always look to find ways to make that journey easier for others,” he says. “We need you to help us heal and improve our communities because we must all call out hate and intolerance wherever and whenever we see it.”

Montclair State conferred 665 doctoral and master’s degrees, including an honorary Doctor of Laws degree on Grewal, who delivered the commencement address at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark on Friday, January 17, 2020.

“All of us, all of us here tonight must leave here and commit to filling the hearts of our next generation with love so they have no room, no room in them for hate,” Grewal says.
