Making the Maloof Inspired Rocker (and a donation)

Making the Sam Maloof inspired rocking chair (and a donation of proceeds from the raffle of this chair to a good cause).

This rocker was a challenge to say the least. However, I was enthralled to make something non-rectangular and it appeared on my radar as something desirable, difficult and very satisfying, if I could do it. The patterns and instruction booklet and videos were purchased from Charles Brock, a prior student of Sam Maloof. Sam Maloof passed on May 21, 2009.

I created a raffle of this rocker to benefit a great charity, namely https://www.mainerecoveryfund.org/ and the https://www.maineworks.us/ Margo Walsh has initiated these organizations to help recovering drug users, ex-cons and military people with PTSD successfully return and recapture their lives thru employment that brings meaning to their lives.
If you have any doubt, please go to these websites and you may be brought to tears, or at least feel that they have achieved success. The opioid crises has devastated many lives and this effort helps these individuals get their lives back.
