Hyundai’s new Elec-City electric bus has 180 miles of range and fully charges in an hour

In Korea, Hyundai, a South Korean automaker has unveiled an all-electric bus. From the company, to create an electric bus it’s the second attempt. In 2010, previously, Hyundai unveiled an electric bus, but it never made it to production.
At the Hyundai Truck & Bus Mega Fair, now the company has unveiled the ‘Elec-City’ bus. In a big way, environment-friendly vehicles are trending, and the trend of going green is assumed to rise even more in the following years. To develop green vehicles, automobile manufacturers are giving it their best shot.

For producing green vehicles such as going the Hybrid way or even Hydrogen fueled cars there are many ways, right now it does seem like an all-electric drivetrain is the best alternative to fossil fuel guzzling internal combustion engines.
Even in the commercial vehicle segment, the green trend is hot, and manufacturers are going all out to develop green commercial vehicles. To go green, Hyundai initiative in developing this bus has also seen as a result of the drive.

Electric Engine:
In 2018, Hyundai aims to commence the production and sales of the electric bus. With a 256 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery with a range of 290km, the ‘Elec-City’ electric bus has equipped. To the wheels, the power has delivered to a 240 kW electric motor. In just 67 minutes, the Bus can fully charge through the fast charging feature.
The ‘Elec-City’ bus can cut down the fuel costs to one-third of a conventional bus, Hyundai states. With electronic temperature control system to prevent battery overcharging, the bus has also equipped.

“Elec-City provides a glimpse into the future of the public transportation. The bus demonstrates the suitability of Hyundai Motor’s pioneering fully electric powertrain for commercial application” in a statement, Hyundai said.

The bus can run 290km with a 256kwh lithium-ion polymer battery on a single charge. Elec city boasts best-in-class driving range, on the road. Furthermore, such as Around view Monitoring and a Full-Colour Digital Cluster it features a variety of safety and human-centered facilities.
