Vlog #43: Vancouver to Besisahar

Beginning on my island, I rode the Super Tenere to Vancouver because YVR has free motorcycle parking - which is far more palatable than the $40/day they want for parking my truck.

After one night in Vancouver, I arrived in Kathmandu with a couple of days to acclimatize before picking up the motorcycle (a Honda xr190L), meeting Uttam (my Bikemandu guide) and riding the 180 kilometres from there to Besisahar: the jumping off point for the road to Manang.

The route to Besisahar includes highways H02, H04 and feeder road F036. The highways seem to be under simultaneous reconstruction, with little intact pavement and everything covered in dust, mud or dusty mud. By the time we arrived in Besisahar, I looked like I'd spent the day on a wet motorcross track - which I'd essentially done...
