मुंबई की झुग्गी में पैदा हुई सुनीता municipality school से केवल 7वीं क्लास तक पढ़ पाई। 14 साल की उम्र में उनकी शादी कर दी गई। शादी के बाद से ही दहेज के लिए ताने ही नहीं मानसिक और शारीरिक प्रतारणा का सामना किया। कई हादसों और Abortion के बाद भी उन्हें न ससुराल से प्रेम मिला न सम्मान। बच्चों की भूख के लिए जब दो पैसे कमाने निकली तो समाज ने इनकी चरित्र पर सवाल उठाए और हर तरह से तोड़ने की कोशिश की।
लेकिन जहाँ अक्सर कहानियाँ ख़त्म हो जाती हैं, वहीं से सुनीता जी की कहानी ने एक नया मोड़ लिया। बच्चों की भूख और अपने हालातों ने उन्हें हिम्मत दी। बिना पढ़ाई, बिना सपोर्ट, सिर्फ़ जज़्बे के दम पर उन्होंने छोटी सी नौकरी से शुरुआत की। 2000 रुपये की कमाई को उन्होंने अपनी मेहनत और लगन से 10,000 रुपये में तब्दील किया और आज Sunita जी अपनी खुद की कंपनी श्री शिव शक्ति Associates” की founder हैं, मुंबई जैसे शहर में आज उनके पास 4 flats हैं ,और वह दर्जनों लोगों को ही अब रोज़गार दे रहीं हैं। उनके बच्चे आज बेहतरीन पदों पर हैं और वो खुद लाखों महिलाओं के लिए एक मिसाल बन चुकी हैं।
Sunita Shah की कहानी हमें ये सिखाती है कि हालात चाहे कितने भी मुश्किल क्यों न हों, अगर इरादे मज़बूत हों तो ज़िंदगी बदली जा सकती है। और सबसे बड़ा सबक, औरत का संघर्ष उसकी हार नहीं, उसकी जीत की शुरुआत होती है।

Born in the slums of Mumbai, Sunita could study only till the 7th grade in a municipality school. At the young age of 14, she was married off. From the very beginning of her marriage, she faced not just taunts for dowry but also severe mental and physical abuse. Despite going through several traumatic incidents and abortions, she neither found love nor respect in her in-laws’ house.
When she stepped out to earn a few rupees just to feed her hungry children, society questioned her character and tried to break her in every possible way.
