If you are a furniture manufacturer or importer then this video is for you. MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade) has notified a Quality Control Order to make BIS certification mandatory for Furniture. This QCO was published by the Ministry after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards (Govt. of India) on 13th February, 2025 in the official gazette.

All the manufacturers or importers of Furniture are now have to get BIS license after the implementation date of Quality Control Order for Furniture, otherwise they are not allowed to manufacture or sale their products in the Indian market as per the guidelines of Bureau of Indian Standards.

General purpose chairs and stools - IS 17632: 2022
Tables and desks - IS 17633: 2022
Storage units - IS 17634: 2022
Beds - IS 17635: 2022
Bunk beds - IS 17636: 2022
