In the late 90's, Microsoft Office 2000 came out sometime in early 1999 as the latest version of Microsoft Office for computers running Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, and the upcoming Windows 2000 at the time, while Windows 2000 was in the Beta 3 stage of it's development. Although, Office 95 originally came out when Windows 95 was released although Office 97 came out in 1996 as a revision of Office 95, despite certain small business versions of Office 97 came bundled with Publisher 98 and Outlook 98. Office 2000 even comes bundled with Internet Explorer 5 which gave many users an upgrade to IE5 because Office 2000 actually requires IE5 for the minimum. Many people that were using Windows 95 OSR 2.5 would have Office 97 & Publisher 98 installed, Office 2000 has the ability do an in-place upgrade to retain your personal settings from Office 97.
