Народный праздник Родион и Ераст отмечается 23 ноября 2024 года (по старому стилю – 10 ноября). Верующие православной церкви в этот день чтут память святых апостолов от 70-ти Ераста, Родиона и еще 4-х братьев по вере.
История.
Учителем апостолов Родиона (Иродиона) и Ераста был святой Павел. Иродион был не просто учеником, а являлся родственником Павла и следовал за ним во всех путешествиях. Во время распространения христианской веры на Балканах он был поставлен епископом в городе Патары.
Проповедуя Слово Иисуса Христа, Иродион обратил в христианскую веру многих язычников, чем вызвал гнев у других иудей. Они напали на него, избили, закидали камнями и ранили ножом. Когда идолопоклонники ушли, Господь Бог излечил раны Иродиона. После этого он еще долго путешествовал с апостолом Петром. После его распятия Иродион был обезглавлен.
Ераст занимал высокое положение в городе Коринфе (он был знатного происхождения), но, прослушав проповеди Петра, оставил эту жизнь и решил посвятить себя Богу. Свой путь начал в Иерусалимской церкви, а после был назначен епископом в городе Панеаде, где и прослужил до глубокой старости.
Традиции и обряды.
В этот день продолжают отдавать ненужную одежду.
Чтобы защитить домашних животных от различных болезней, в церковь несут испеченный хлеб и большой кусок соли, освящают их и кормят ими скот. Считается, что это придаст им здоровья. А если в это время корова продается, то в придачу к ней даются освещенные куски хлеба и соли.
Приметы.
Если иней покрыл все вокруг – быть морозу.
Если дует ветер, то вскоре закружат метели.
Если в этот день развезло дороги, то зима будет лютой.
Если туман стелется по земле или все покрыло белым снегом – быть потеплению.
Если на Ераста и Родиона расчирикались воробьи, то вскоре наступит оттепель. Если же они прячутся в траве, то быть снежной буре.
Если воробьи в гнезда много пуха таскают – жди холодов.
