The Gift of Christmas

Christ came to ransom, pay the cost,
For souls enslaved and hope once lost.
A price too high for us to bear,
Yet freely given, grace to share.

He came to call the sinner’s heart,
To turn from dark, to make a start.
With healing words, He leads the way,
To walk in light, and not dismay.

He came to save from wrath’s decree,
To break the chains, set us free.
No longer bound, no fear, no blame,
In Christ alone, we know no shame.

Christ came to give eternal life,
To end the sorrow, end the strife.
Believe in Him, the Savior true,
And live in undeserved grace wholy anew.

So, as we ponder Christ’s great gift,
Do we not feel our spirits lift?
He came for us, both you and me,
To set us free, and make us see.
