Beyla: Zero-Code Distributed Traces & Metrics for Your Microservices with eBPF | GrafanaCON 2024

Описание к видео Beyla: Zero-Code Distributed Traces & Metrics for Your Microservices with eBPF | GrafanaCON 2024

Instrumenting applications to capture observability requires technical effort and cultural changes, especially when dealing with polyglot architectures. Each application language technology brings different instrumentation strategies and best practices: Some programming languages support instrumentation agents, like Java and .NET; some have auto-instrumentation libraries, such as Python and Ruby; while others can only be instrumented with manual instrumentation, like Rust.

In this Grafana 2024 talk, Mario Macias demos Grafana Beyla, our state-of-the-art answer to instrumentation with eBPF. You’ll learn how to get fully distributed traces and RED metrics on a Kubernetes cluster with applications written in various languages, using a multitude of application protocols (HTTP, gRPC, SQL), all with a single Grafana Beyla instance deployed as Kubernetes DaemonSet.
