Our May 2021 meeting featured Florida's Native Bees: Biology, Identification, and Conservation.

The presenter Sarah Anderson Weaver is a PhD candidate in the Entomology and Nematology department at the University of Florida who specializes in native bees and pollinator ecology. Her research focuses on understanding the impact of climate warming and land-use change on native pollinators.

Florida is home to over 320 species of bees! Sarah will be covering a range of information on some of the most common or notable Florida native bee species including information on where to find them and how to identify them. She will also briefly discuss what steps we can take as plant enthusiasts to conserve bees.
