A New TV Channel from Goldmark

Galvanised by its recent Royal Television Society nomination for best factual programme* and the needs of its customers who are self- isolating, preparing for lockdown or just sensibly not travelling Goldmark Gallery in Uppingham, Rutland, is to launch its own television channel this Saturday 21 March. Jay Goldmark Goldmark’s MD and Head of the RTS nominated Goldmark Films comments; ‘We have been inspired by the fact that we have the last ever exhibition of one of the world’s great potters, Svend Bayer, opening on 21 March. We would normally have many hundreds of people through the door on the first day of such an exhibition and we know that people had planned to fly in from the USA, Canada, Norway, Denmark and from all over the world. The Coronavirus means that will obviously no longer happen and the health of our customers and staff is obviously our greatest concern.

‘Yet the exhibition is in place, our documentary team is eager to make films and our customers keen to be kept involved. So we will start by broadcasting from the show and making a film to include an interview with Svend Bayer and footage of him at work. This will be streamed on www.goldmarkart.com/tv from 12 noon on 21 March. Thereafter GTV will regularly broadcast every week to allow all our customers and art lovers around the world, who may be unable to travel or even leave their home, to see and hear about our ever changing art and interact with the gallery.’

GTV http://goldmark.tv will be hosted by Goldmark Films regular presenter Max Waterhouse and will include a live chat option and the opportunity to buy the art on show.
