CAN THE LEOPARD somehow represent a GERMAN leopard tank, as some claim? Can the “wings of a fowl” indicate a rooster, the emblem of FRANCE? Or does Scripture offer a BETTER UNDERSTANDING?
What does my Word say? I have told you that I will send you the Holy Spirit to teach you all things, whatsoever I have said unto you – and this especially includes the understanding of these prophecies. Lean not to your own understanding; it will fail you! Ask me everything! Then, share that understanding of truth with others. (Ps119:130 Jn14:26 Dan12:4 Prov3:5-6 2Pet1:21-22 KJV)
Now, allow me to explain the vision and the interpretation of the four-winged, four-headed leopard of Daniel Chapter 7. And then, I shall illustrate it again – a little bit simpler.
The Vision (with commentary)
Dan7:6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard (the leopard represents the swiftest of Alexander the Great’s Grecian kingdom to conquer Medo-Persia), which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl (the four wings symbolize Alexander’s four generals who aided the swiftness of the leopard); the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it (another way to represent Alexander’s four generals, which are again illustrated by the features of the rough he goat in Daniel 8:5,20-22KJV)
The interpretation of the vision is understood by further visions and interpretations given to Daniel in Chapter 8 – the visions concerning the rough he goat and the ram.
The Interpretation (with commentary)
Dan8:20-23 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king (Alexander the Great). Now that being broken (his early death), whereas four stood up for it (Alexander’s four generals), four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, (the Grecian kingdom divided into four) but not in his power (not in Alexander’s power). And in the latter time of their kingdom (out of the region which the four generals had ruled), when the transgressors are come to the full (in the Endtime), a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up (the Antichrist).
