How to wear out a Catahoula Leopard Dog

I just wanted to share a different kind of driving that I do with my dog. It is a custom made dog sulky by Chalo Sulky that is made light weight (the Simple Sulky is 35 lbs and the Suspension Sulky is 48 lbs. In shape, healthy dogs can typically pull 3 times their weight over longer distances) and is balanced so there is no weight on the dog's back since dogs can't handle weight on their backs like horses can. The seat is behind the axle which makes negative weight on the dogs. It is so light and balanced that I can pull it with my pinky finger! The inventor of the dorsal shaft dog sulky is James Walsh from Australia that retired from making horse racing sulkies and started making dog sulkies. He has since retired from that too but Chalo Sulky still makes dorsal shaft dog sulkies. They are based in Georgia and Illinois, USA. My five year old Catahoula Leopard Dog has been pulling the sulky since she was three and a half years old. We do both urban and trails with it. We run at 3 am during the summer but it can't be any warmer than 68 degrees F. We also won't run if it is humid out. I have to run year round, my dog won't take no for a answer and will become cranky and depressed if I don't hook her up at least once a week! We do other activities besides the sulky for exercise but the sulky is by far her favorite! Here is one of my more recent videos of one of our runs with the suspension sulky.
More info on the sulky I use can be found at www.chalosulky.com
