Tonight on "Explore Now" we take you inside the Big Bear Solar Observatory that houses a giant 1.6 meter instrument called "The Goode Solar Telescope" that with its active optics package has made some of the highest resolution images ever made of the Sun.

Astronomers Claude Plymate (Telescope Engineer and Chief Observer at BBSO), and Teresa Bippert-Plymate (with many years of experience in professional astronomy, including technical specialist work with the Spitzer Space Telescope and the McMath-Pierce Solar Telescope, among others) will conduct this rare tour of the instrument that has been used to advance our current understanding of our nearest star.
