Hailing from Cavan and formed around the songwriting partnership of Justin Kelly and David Meagher, Sons of Southern Ulster released their debut album 'Foundry Folk Songs' in 2016. This album has been described as a warts ‘n all examination of the vagaries, and occasional horrors, of a youth spent in a small border town during the dark days of the 1980’s.

Their widely acclaimed second album Sinners And Lost Souls was lots of peoples album of 2020 is available in vinyl and received 4 out 5 Stars in the Irish Times in July 2020.

In August 2021 they released the E.P 'Turf Accountant Schemes' which features four tracks from the band's second album 'Sinners and Lost Souls' (2020), each of them re-imagined and re-mixed by Pete Briquette. (Boomtown Rat, bassist, record producer and composer).
