Kiske kiske ghar aise wali FRIDGE 🧊hua karti thi 🙌🏻 ?

Stumbled upon them at a trash station and I instantly knew ki jo chappal rakhne ki meri aadat hai idhar udhar, they deserved a home of their own. Fir kya, mai le aaya ek Fridge to be upcycled ♻️ into my Shoe Cabinet 🗄️

➡️ Firstly all prep work needed to be done ! Wherever there were dents, rusty flakes coming off - sabko treat karna hai with putty (ask for iron base putty at hardware store) Leave it overnight to dry.

➡️ Next day, lightly sand to make the surface even jaha putty lagayi thi. I also replaced the old fridge racks with wooden sliders (take a carpenter’s help here).

➡️ Then we apply any white primer over the entire fridge. Allow it to dry and again sand it lightly. It’s ready for the painting part. You can sketch your design now or after applying a base colour (like I did off white base)

➡️ Mujhe ispe Madhubani art karna tha (which took days to finish 😅) you can opt for something simpler like abstract or geometric patterns. Used chalks paints here, so unko seal karna hota hai with varnish or lacquer. Go for matte finish sealant.

➡️ Lastly decking up part - Added peel & stick tiles (they looked so real 😳), some hooks, decals and neeche 4 wooden legs at bottom.

That’s all, your very own Shoe Cabinet is ready !
