My name is Joe Gianelli. Im a regular 50 somethin, 3rd generation Italian- American guy from New Haven, Connecticut. But what sets me apart is Pizza is my passion!

Its because of my intense passion for Apizza, as its called back home, and my life-long desire to start my own pizzeria; I have decided to embark on a worldwide culinary odyssey. Its my personal pilgrimage to unmask the legend of this extraordinary flat bread pie, and to discover the heart and soul, and the international popularity of pizza today. Thats why they call me, The Pizza Hunter!

And during my travels Im sure to introduce you to some interesting characters. Ill be talking to food experts and visiting famous Pizzerias. I even plan to toss a few pies myself. And, if Im a real smooth talker, I just might get lucky and hustle a few secret recetti de famiglia (family recipes), from these wise guys.

Then, empowered by my newly acquired knowledge and skills learned while on the road, Ill return home and use them to launch a totally new concept in Italian dining.

Im a man on a mission and my odyssey has begun, and I want you to come along. So, join me, Joe Gianelli, The Pizza Hunter, on my journey to Apizza heaven.
