Urban Style Records [1989]

Just watched the documentary and went to listen and was surprised to not see it in full online. Originally a fanzine turned into a legendary tape compilation, chronicling a transitional time during the New York hardcore boom. So many classics on here like Absolution, Life's Blood, Breakdown, and more. This was the only release on Urban Style Records, co-run and released by Chaka Malik of Burn who is photographed on the cover artwork.

The original comp came with a tape and full print fanzine, all designed and compiled by hand. Probably one of the most important documents of NYHC right before the 90s changes in aesthetic and sound, with many alumni going on to do plenty of great things (Burn, Citizens Arrest, Quicksand, etc.).
