Sayeeda's Sojourn as a painter began about two and half decades ago when she joined the department of Fine Arts, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and Masters from central University, Hyderabad. Like any other young Student of art her initial endeavors were to gasp and understand the rudiments and fundamentals of art and design, in process acquiring the necessary skills for enabling her in articulation of her ideas and influences on to canvas.


She was born in a small coastal city, Visakhapatnam, in Eastern India. Her initial works had elements of coastal life in them, fishermen/women, and sea scapes. She relates happiness and sorrow through colors. She first moved to Mumbai after her marriage, there she did Man and woman series. Canada saw completely new colors and she completed 'Living space series' there. She came back to India after a long gap of a decade. She was inspired by the tradition and spirit of Sankranti Festival in Andhra Pradesh. That period saw the series on Bulls (Gangiredulu). On the technical side, She feel she have achieved very strong control on the reverse painting technique. Not many artists are working on this media. She has tried to bring complex textures and rich colors.
