A little clip of a germanium Zonk II I recently finished. The Germanium Zonk II is a bit of lore, there’s some argument if it actually existed or not but pictures of supposed authentic units exist online. It captures a lot of the brash character of the original Zonk, but is more bass-heavy, lending itself to some crazy lead tones. If you dial your volume pot back just a tad you regain a good amount of clarity and still have some great bite. It’s a really fun circuit, albeit not the most useable in every context.
