The UN Ocean Conference UNOC3 took place from 9-13 June 2025 in Nice, France.
France and Costa Rica were the host governments of the UNOC3.
Holding this conference in one of the most expensive cities in the world is just weird!!

#SaveMaldives Campaign volunteer Humay was invited by Netherlands based international NGO Both Ends, to join partners from the Philippines and Indonesia in a panel discussion at UNOC3. The side event, held in collaboration with UNEP-GRID Geneva, focussed on the issue of marine reclamation and ocean exploitation and the impacts of this destructive activity on coastal communities.

The side-event was entitled "Extracting the future: a conversation on marine sand, ocean justice and resilience". The event took place on 13 June 2025 at the UNOC3 Green Zone called La Baleine (The Whale).
