Before the All Black Towns of Oklahoma, there were the communities of Indian Territory Freedmen.

Thousands of people who at one point own sizable areas of land that could be equated to the size of a city like San Francisco (49 square miles.)

These communities developed culture, political associations and educational facilities but are invisible when the story of Indian Territory & Oklahoma are told.

This is a small effort to bring some attention and recognition on people who were among the first settlers in the Chickasaw and Choctaw Nation of Indian Territory/Oklahoma.
