Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Aam Aadmi Party harshly on Friday, before of the 2025 Delhi assembly elections, claiming that the national capital has been encircled by a "disaster" for the past ten years. The prime minister claimed that by keeping Anna Hazare at the forefront, "a small number of 'kattar beimaan' (bigoted dishonest) people have pushed the national capital towards the 'aapda' (disaster)" in a subtle jab at AAP president Arvind Kejriwal.

He criticized the Atishi-led Delhi government harshly, claiming that it first engages in corruption before exalting it. "First the theft and then the arrogance...this AAP has come to Delhi," he stated.
