Hi, we’re Roselle and Jen. We didn’t set out to be “content creators.” Honestly, we were just two queer women trying to survive deadlines, community work, creative projects, and each other’s quirks. (Roselle talks a lot; Jen edits a lot—emotionally and literally.)
We met in our twenties in UP Diliman—Roselle was the young professor writing about lesbian/queer art, and Jen somehow ended up in her orbit. Life took us in different directions, then life brought us back. Since 2017, we’ve been together, and since 2021, married. The journey between those years? Definitely not a straight line. More like a scribble on a wet napkin.
One of our toughest chapters was the pandemic, when we got stuck in Australia. Isolated, scared, far from everything familiar—and yet cooking nonstop, talking for hours (still mostly Roselle), and posting little moments of our life online.
Meanwhile, Jen had been dreaming of a channel for her clay work, and Roselle’s colleagues kept insisting she put her “unpopular opinions” somewhere other than the group chat. Add to that, our collective of women is throwing in the idea of creating a podcast.
So here we are. NO STRAIGHT LINES: Meandering with Roselle and Jen.
This channel is basically us inviting you into our dining table conversations—about love, food, art, politics, queerness, struggles, strange detours, and the tiny things that make life bearable (and sometimes hilarious).
We are two women wanting to share stories and slices of life, curious about what types of communities can spring from these conversations. If our meanderings make you feel seen, comforted, curious, or hungry—then stay awhile.
