Exploring Bankhead National Forest: Kayaking the Sipsey Fork Wild & Scenic River

Описание к видео Exploring Bankhead National Forest: Kayaking the Sipsey Fork Wild & Scenic River

The most popular paddle in the national forest, this 10-12 mile journey starts at the Sipsey Picnic Area on Cranal Rd and ends at the take out on Hwy 33. If you're adventurous, continue on a few more miles and take out near Grindstone Creek. Numerous waterfalls, including those of Hurricane Creek and Lloyd's Canyon can be found on this creek. Passing the junctions of Davis, Caney and Payne Creeks, there are many opportunities to explore further. Also on this stretch is the infamous "100 Yard Dash", a class 2 rapids.

Please note this is rugged, difficult terrain with no official trail if you get off the water

About the "Exploring..." videos:
--------------------
I want you hear the rush of the water, the swaying of branches, bird songs, the crunch beneath each step. Those things provide far more information than long form narration could ever provide. I post detailed write-ups on my blog: http://www.weathermansam.wordpress.com
