1803 Nikon Nikkor AF-S 70-300mm FX VR Lens: Intermittent Fault with the VR on/off switch

Layman Terms: A common fault with some Nikkor VR systems. This particular lens has an intermittent fault with the on/off switch for the VR (Vibration Reduction) system. The Auto Focus (AF-S) works beautiful with no other existing faults mechanically or electronically in this lens. Inside the Glass is clean, clear and takes brilliant sharp images. My experience of the fault and how I get around the VR system failing me is:... I shut the VR off before shutting the camera off. I find leaving the VR off until it is attached to the camera and the camera is turned on before putting the VR on. Once the VR is running it works great. If the VR is not running you will have to mess about switching off and on before it works again. Hence I have to follow the procedure not to fall victim to the on/off switch for the VR system. size: 67mm filter ring.
