Here is my comprehensive, mostly objective and extremely positive review of the Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 21. We'll talk a little history, a little philosophy, and some very specific analysis of this legendary blade. Upon close inspection, there are aspects of this knife which, from the standpoint of precision, quality and long-term durability, set it apart from all competitors.

The Sebenza has been on the market for over 20 years, and during that time has been the gold standard of folding production knives. It's a rather telling fact, I think, that during those two decades, with all its components and dimensions available for all to see, that no other knife maker has really even attempted to closely emulate what makes a Sebenza a Sebenza. The reasons for that are open to speculation, but I have to believe that no one else is willing to put the time, discipline and resources into producing a folding knife of this quality, and then try to sell it for a profit. To paraphrase an axiom of success... The difference between Chris Reeve and all other knife manufacturers is that he is willing and determined to do the things necessary to make his product as good as others want theirs to be, but don't have the resolve or expertise to put into practice themselves.

This is an amazing knife, made by an outstanding company, run by an exceptional man. Come along with me as we analyze and discuss all three. You're gonna need a comfortable chair and a thermos of coffee... this is not a short review. But when it's done, you'll most certainly know what makes a Sebenza a Sebenza. But be careful... this review might be expensive!

Grace and Peace, my friends...
