Описание к видео THAW - 7.425 Billion Point Combo - East LA

By a complete accident, while messing around on reTHAWed, I found that it is possible to consistently get "...Sir Leetness" gap by landing on a pivot after jumping to the left from the tracks. I immediately checked if it's also possible in vanilla THAW, and that sparked the idea of creating a new line on East LA that utilizes both "...Sir Leetness" and "Oh My..." gaps. To my surprise, creating a good line without air drifting is a much harder task than I imagined. I'd say I spent at least two weeks trying different routes until i settled with this one. I somehow managed to create a fairly consistent line, but it's still easy to mess it up.

Riding this line not only gives you much more base points than the usual East LA line, but also saves a ton of grind and manual balance before hitting the score limit. Recently some players pretty much simultaneously discovered that on THAW engine grinds don't substract a tiny amount of grind time after you hit the 2.147 billion score limit. Therefore, I tried to make a line that makes the best of this mechanic before the score limit, hence the amount of immediate jumps on grinds. This line also skips the long manual in the canal bank, which significantly lowers overall manual usage. In this run I hit the limit with 8s manual and 10s grind, but with a completely flawless run you can get around 7s on each. That's way lower than what you get on the usual East LA line. Sadly, I didn't make a great use of that save after the limit.

Overall getting a first ever 7+ billion on a game that I haven't played for a decade is sufficient for me, but I know that it surely is possible to get much more with this line. I'm not super satisfied with the score, but I really had enough of this game for now. Relearning how to play with bert slides and with no air drift was a complete nightmare. Endless runs wasted because of a tiniest mistake, or a random bert slide registering only for a fraction of a milisecond. Nevertheless, I think that this run was pretty okay, until I went for lips. I started to panic after I barely recovered at 19:46 and then everything started to completely fall apart, even though I had manual at only 33s and could easily get more laps.

You might notice that throughout this run I make a ton of "empty" 180 airs. The reason for that is that these 180 spins, just like gaps, give a +1 muiltiplier that never degrades. No matter how many times you use them they always give a +1. If timed correctly, you can even combine this with a flip/grab and get a +2 multiplier for jump, but I barely used that (20:50). Using these 180 spins also makes getting multiplier from tricks later on much easier. I also barely do any flips and rolls while holding grabs in the phase of building base after the score limit. For whatever reason, just as in THUG2, doing a roll or a flip drastically lowers the points you get from holding grabs.

I also had some cool ideas, that didn't make the final line. They either weren't very useful or weren't consistent enough. Here's a 3.8b using one of the flashiest iterations of the line    • 3800 east la cool line  .

Btw the first (?) ever "...Sir Leetness" gap done by going under the bridge was recorded in 2009    • 2.8 East la BuLLeT  , but I had no idea of this at the time I discovered the "pivot way" of getting it.
