1962 BUICK ELECTRA 225 -- TOP OF THE LINE BUICK

Back in the sixties, all car makers offered many different models to reach as many in a market segment as possible. Buick offered 4 and starting at the bottom was the second year edition of the Special, ( with Skylark under the Special wing ), then the LeSabre, followed by Invicta, the Wildcat, and at the top the Electra 225. On a different note, the Electra series was dropped leaving the Electra 225 as the top model. Buick production jumped 38% this year. And also this year Buick resumed the importation of the Opel automobile. The only engine available for the Electra 225 is a V8, 401 cid with 325 bhp. A powerful enough engine to lug around this 4,235 lb. car. This 225 would have set you back $4,062 for this 2-door hardtop. This example here is one of 8,922 hardtops made this year. You can't help but admiring the style and sheetmetal of this 225 with it's original survivor pristene paint and interior.
