It’s 2021! And ever wondered how the Dutch start their New Year? Well, here you go! This is the CRAZY way Dutch start their New Year!

Each year, on the first of January, thousands of Dutchies make their way to the beach at Scheveningen to dive into a freezing ocean to celebrate #newyearsday. The first Scheveningen Nieuwjaarsduik took place in 1965 and the event is sponsored by smoked sausage maker Unox, which provides all the swimmers with an orange hat. The main swim has only been canceled once before, in 2007, when the weather was too cold and the strong current made the sea too dangerous. This year covid was the joy killer, but Adi was brave enough to do it all by himself!
