Today we are visiting Big Pocono State Park in Tannersville PA to hike the 1.5-2 mile Indian Trail loop along the summit of Camelback Mountain. Big Pocono State park boasts one of the few ADA compliant vista points within Northeast PA, you can take in views of 3 different states from the highest point in the region. You can easily see the view from any of the 4 parking lots along the 1.4 mile scenic road (Rim Road) which can also double as an accessible trail. There are rustic bathroom facilities, trash receptacles and picnic sites available as well.

If you go:
The drive up to Big Pocono State Park can be difficult for some vehicles, you may want to reconsider the drive if your vehicle has bad transmission/brakes or is carrying a heavy load. To get to the park drive past Camelback Ski Resort and go up the mountain until you can't anymore.

The bathroom and picnic facilities are located in lot 2 in the middle of the 4 lot loop of Rim Road.

The parking lots are closed from December to April but the park can still be accessed by parking in the Game Commission lots near the gates.

Hunting is allowed at this State Park, please wear bright colors if you plan to hike during hunting season.

Leashed dogs are allowed within the park

If you're looking for a great playground for after your hike check out Mountainview Park which is very close by. The park is across from Barley Creek Brewing Company on the same road as the state park and has multiple playgrounds, nature trails and a sensory play area.
