🚴‍♀️Paris-Roubaix is a one-day professional cycling race in France that is held annually in April. It is one of the most prestigious and challenging races on the UCI World Tour calendar and is often referred to as the "Queen of the Classics." The race covers a distance of approximately 257 km, starting in Compiègne and ending in Roubaix, and is known for its rough terrain and cobblestone roads.
The race route passes through many small towns and villages in northern France and features several sections of cobblestone roads, known as "pavé," that can be up to 2.5 meters in length and cause a great deal of stress and wear on the bikes and riders. These cobblestone sections, combined with the often wet and muddy conditions, make Paris-Roubaix a physically and mentally demanding race that tests the riders' skill, endurance, and determination.
The winner of the race is the first rider to cross the finish line in Roubaix, and the race is known for its dramatic finishes and close battles for the victory. Over the years, Paris-Roubaix has become one of the most popular races on the calendar, attracting large crowds of spectators and a global television audience. It is also one of the oldest races in the world, first held in 1896, and has a rich history and tradition in the sport of cycling.
