Tense calm in Gopalganj as 22-hour curfew underway following at least 4 killed in clashes
গোপালগঞ্জে জাতীয় নাগরিক পার্টি-এনসিপির কর্মসূচি ঘিরে ১৬ জুলাই দিনভর দফায় দফায় হামলা, সংঘর্ষ, ভাঙচুর ও অগ্নিসংযোগের ঘটনা ঘটে। এতে এখন পর্যন্ত চারজন নিহত হওয়ার খবর পাওয়া গেছে। ওই দিন এনসিপির পূর্বঘোষিত জুলাই পদযাত্রা পরে যার নামকরণ করা হয় মার্চ টু গোপালগঞ্জ ঘিরে এসব ঘটনা ঘটে। পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে গোপালগঞ্জে কারফিউ জারি করা হয়। আতঙ্ক-উৎকণ্ঠার রাত পেরিয়ে ১৭ জুলাই সকালেও সেখানকার পরিবেশ থমথমে। এনসিপি নেতাদের অভিযোগ, আওয়ামী লীগ ও নিষিদ্ধ ঘোষিত ছাত্রলীগের নেতা-কর্মীরা এ হামলা চালিয়েছে।
