What a fun build followed by the intense satisfaction of getting it airborne for a maiden flight and a successful first landing. I love this plane and think it is an excellent first low wing plane that truly any skill level will enjoy.
The plane weighed in at 11lbs even which was a touch heavy. I attribute that to the aluminum landing gear which I reinforced the. Punting point with fiberglass and resin. Also I added a tail wire kit to the rear which resulted in about 3oz of lead being added under the engine. The extra weight doesn't phase this set up at all. She glides a long ways before settling in to land. Ground handling is perfectly fine and this is in part to using a Sullivan tail wheel bracket which I love.
