I got a short bit on drone video too here:    • Surfers at Point Mugu Rock (a year ago)   It was cut short when I lost the radio link with the drone. Thankfully the drone returned but it freaked me out so I didn't launch it again.

Jan 11, 2021. I had no idea that this was happening today. I was looking for Sperm Whales I'd heard had been within a mile of shore here the day before (very unusual). I originally parked on the West side of the big rock there. Not many people, but big surf crashing into the rock. I just happened to drive over to the East side of the big rock and saw a bunch of cars and photographers. I parked at the extreme East end of the dirt lot there and asked a photographer what was going on. He said "the surfers" & that this was the 1st time since 2013 that the surf was good at this "famous" spot. The surfers were about 0.5 km to the west of where I parked, just on the East side of the rock. There were lots of photographers with fancy cameras all along that half kilometer. Also drones in the air and some photographers out in the water swimming in wetsuits with fancy looking water friendly cameras. The surfing was better than I've ever seen. Once a good set of waves came in, there was no waiting around. Every good wave was caught by someone (sometimes more than one) and it was one after the next like that (just like this video shows). When a surfer got a good ride, it was a long ride too! Some had spectacular finishes, flying up into the air (like the last one in this video). I have a lot of photos and video I took with my little Canon SX740 HS pocket super-zoom. I'm sure everyone else has much better video than I got. But I haven't even looked at much of my photos and video yet. This was only the 2nd one I looked at and I decided it's good enough to upload unedited.
