Earlier today, I finished version 2 of this restoration and uploaded it. Also posting to the Elton John subreddit (where I posted my original version). A bit later, someone commented in that thread and mentioned that there is a full copy of Ryan's funeral ceremony available on Youtube, including Skyline Pigeon.

I had no idea, I figured only the performance existed and the rest was perhaps rotting on tape somewhere, if it even survived. It was uploaded last June by a user named Bosey McWhy, ripped from a VHS recording of the broadcast. Thanks to them for preserving this important piece of history.

Compared to the video I used in v1 and v2, the Bosey version has slightly higher quality video, and no watermark. The audio wasn't as good (being a bit more boomy.) But, overall it was an upgrade.

The video got the same treatment as before. No watermark meant much less cropping was needed (only the bottom to hide some garbled bits). Plus a slight bump to the saturation (even less than v2).

Since the audio was worse, I applied the same aufr33 denoise model, and used it to patch the very beginning and ending of the original audio. This is probably the best it will ever sound, given that I'm working with Youtube rips of 30yr old VHS footage of a broadcast. Perhaps a full quality rip of the original tape might give a better result, but I wouldn't know for sure.
