Making a Kumiko Lantern - Japanese Woodworking

This andon was a fun project. It all came from scrap wood and I mixed in quite a fe different techniques. It's loosely inspired by traditional Japanese cast iron lanterns and I simplified the design quite a bit. I burnt the legs and handle and added a hemp cord wrap to the handle to add some more texture.
