HARVESTING: 2019 Austrian Crescent Fingerling Potato

Описание к видео HARVESTING: 2019 Austrian Crescent Fingerling Potato

We have our IG friend, @grateful_gardener, to thank for the seed potato that grew into the potatoes that we harvested today.

Ideally, we would have wanted to wait a little longer for the plant to yellow and finish up some more so we may find more or larger potatoes. However, our watermelon vine is overtaking the space and we need to dig out the potatoes today or risk damaging the vine if we did it later on.

In our harvest, it was a surprise to find some large but knobby potatoes (which Owen calls, "dinosaur.") They remind us of a knobby Peruvian variety. Methinks this extra nodes are the result of our wet spring and inadequate drainage. If you know what's going on, please feel free to share.
