Potty Road is an AI-powered classifier operating through Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) for identifying the severity of the potholes in the roads and pavements. CNNs are known for pattern recognition in images and are proven to be far more accurate than conventional compute vision algorithms prone to errors. In addition with the provided Scene based dataset, the model was trained using the popular Road Damage Dataset available as an open-source addition. The accuracy of the model obtained is on par with the leading models published in scientific articles on similar tasks. The current version of Potty Road is a lightweight python package which can easily run on low power computers. The module can easily be integrated with GPS navigation systems like Google Maps. It can also be embedded in autonomous vehicles for identifying damages in roads and pavements. The tool runs entirely on client-side ensuring the privacy and security of the host system.
