One Life to Live 1/18/1990

Cord tells Tina they’re going back to Llanfair now, but Tina asks him not to cause a scene and says she’s CJ’s mother and will take him out of town if she wants to. Kevin explains the drug dealers offered him and his friends crack and said he wouldn’t live to see high school if Kevin ratted them out. Bo and Sarah are ready to send out their wedding invitations.

[Episode is briefly interrupted for breaking news]

Megan interrupts Bo and Sarah’s lunch, incensed about an interview Dorian gave that trashes Raymond and suggests Roland should be the next King of Mendorra. Viki and Clint leap into action to fight the town’s drug problem, with Clint planning to alert Rafe and Viki hoping to enlist Dorain’s help in obtaining state and federal funds for both drug enforcement and education. Viki asks Dorian if she has any friends in Washington who might be able to get some funding for drug education and prevention programs. Dorian agrees to ask around and see what she can do, but she quickly pivots the conversation to gossiping about the state of Viki’s marriage. Viki insists Megan calls Raymond to tell him about Dorian’s interview, but he is already aware. After he gets off the phone, Raymond asks Helga (who seems to have lost her accent suddenly) why he hasn’t gotten the letters or phone messages Megan has sent and she promises to look into it. Cord berates Tina for not considering anyone but herself when she decided to take CJ away from him. He says if she gets on the plane, he’ll head straight for Jon’s office to get a court order so she will be arrested as soon as she steps off the plane in San Diego (though I’m not sure that’s how that works).
Megan catches up with Dorian and tells her everything she said in her interview is garbage. Dorian defends her statements. Megan and Sarah both think Raymond was keeping something from them when they spoke to him. Megan convinces Bo to let Sarah do an on-air rebuttal of Dorian’s op-ed using their international satellite link. Dorian catches Sarah’s broadcast defending Raymond (and directly opposing Dorian). Helga catches the broadcast too and tells Dorian she should come back soon so they can move on to the next phase of their plan. Viki hands out flyers to parents outside Kevin’s school and asks everyone to attend a community meeting tomorrow night to discuss the drug problem. Clint is worried Viki might attract the attention of dangerous elements with her newfound activism, but Viki promises she will be careful and that she has no intention of tangling with kingpins and their ilk. Ultimately, Cord agrees to let them go to California as long as she keeps him in the loop about any decisions and lets him know any time they move. Cord says a tearful goodbye to both CJ and Tina.
