Eighties reinvented - Debut album of "The Tubbs" has arrived.
The ever-changing music industry always motivates artists to redesign, to be renewed which fortunately takes shape in creativity and spring into existence in new projects. The artists of Mole Listening Pearls & Plastic City , in this case Forteba (Krisztian Dobrocsi) and Marcel aka Carmel (Marcell Dudas) have chosen the form of fusion to express the story of the past few years happened with them and within. The Tubbs project is a so-called game of the two artists, a midlife moment expriment to reflect their decades of works. The „Miami Wives” album is the fruit of this reflection on their separate and common past. The first single from the „Miami Wives” album called „Give a Little, Take a Little” is going to be released on the 18th of December, 2020.
What’s common in the son of a worker family in the capital suburbs and the son of a policeman growing up in a historical small town? At first hearing you could say nothing. Somehow, as it’s used to happen with the children born in the seventies, early eighties, they shared the same history with the likes of the tape decks, the boom of the VHS era, and the magical word of the American TV series which were almost unknown in the Eastern block before. In this seemingly closed world the televison and radio had a huge impact on so many lives later.
This was the mind-blowing moment for the childhood Forteba when he first heard l’Enfant from Vangelis in a news program called „The Week” and the same moment for Marcel when he first heard Kraftwerk’s evergreen „Das Model” in a TV commercial. Music was always a part of their lives and the age of their early twenties they started to appear in the electronic music world, Forteba with the band called Le Garage, while Marcel shorty after the work with Bernáthy & Sons continued as a solo artist. They first met on a stage as performers and in the past twenty years they reflected on each other’s work from time to time, they worked on collabos and remixes together and for each other, not to mention they are both UCM One artists for decades, Forteba on Plastic City, Marcel on Mole Listening Pearls.
Funnily, the idea of making an album together has just came to their minds a couple of years ago. And the collaboration gave them space to leave the comfort zone and enter such musical territories which were less discovered or sometimes almost undiscovered.
This project is the fruit of long late night talks and listening to music together. Their music was shaped by the sometimes nostalgic reflection on childhood, these controversial times we are living in, and the idea we need the same amount of humour and passion to experience this life.
In this world where no one’s perfect finally everything turn out well, just like in TV shows.
