1. Overview of CAT 2025
The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 is a computer-based examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) for admission to various Post Graduate and Fellow/Doctorate programmes. The exam will take place on November 30, 2025, in three sessions across approximately 170 test cities. CAT 2025 scores are also accepted by various non-IIM member institutions, a list of which is available on the official CAT website.

2. Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for CAT 2025, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Bachelor's Degree: A Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. This minimum is reduced to 45% for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) categories. The degree must be awarded by a recognized University or institution.
Final Year Students: Candidates in their final year of a Bachelor’s degree or awaiting results can apply provisionally. If selected, they must "submit a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of their University/Institution...stating that they have completed all the requirements for obtaining the Bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate."
Professional Degrees: Candidates who have completed professional degrees such as CA/CS/ICWA (CMA)/Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of India (FIAI) with the required percentage are also eligible, even if they do not hold a Bachelor's degree.
CGPA Conversion: If a University/Institution provides a conversion scheme from CGPA to percentage, that procedure will be used. If no such scheme exists, the conversion is established by "dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA, and multiplying the result with 100."
Important Note: "Applicants should note that mere fulfillment of the minimum eligibility criteria will not ensure consideration for shortlisting by IIMs." IIMs may also consider "previous academic performance of the candidates, relevant work experience and other similar inputs."
3. Registration Process and Fees
The registration process for CAT 2025 is entirely online via https://iimcat.ac.in.

Registration Steps:

Register for User ID and Password: Create a unique User ID and Password using a valid and unique email address and mobile number. OTP verification is required.
Indian candidates receive OTP on mobile and email; User ID and Password on both.
Overseas candidates receive OTP, User ID, and Password on email only.
The name and date of birth entered here must match the 10th/SSC Certificate.
Login and Fill Application Form: Use the generated credentials to log in and fill out the detailed application form. The form has six sections:
Personal Details (including communication address, emergency contact, and document uploads)
Academics (10th, 12th, Bachelor's, Master's, Professional Degrees)
Work Experience
Programmes (IIM programs and interview cities)
Test City (selection of five preferences)
Declaration (and payment)
Submit and Pay: After completing all sections and previewing the form for accuracy, proceed with online payment. Once payment is made and the application is submitted, no changes can be made to the application form.
Registration Fees:

₹1300 for SC, ST, and PwD category candidates.
₹2600 for all other categories of candidates (General, EWS, NC-OBC).
Non-refundable: Fees once paid "cannot be refunded under any circumstances."
Payment is required only once, regardless of the number of institutes applied to.
Required Documents for Upload (during registration):

Passport Size Photograph: Scanned image, 1200x1200 pixels, .jpg or .jpeg, max 80KB, white background, not more than six months old. Candidates need to bring printed copies of this photograph on exam day.
Signature: Scanned image, 80mm x 35mm, .jpg or .jpeg, max 80KB.
Valid EWS/NC-OBC/SC/ST Certificate: Scanned as PDF.
Valid PwD Certificate: Scanned as PDF.
Final Year Certificate (if applicable): Required for candidates appearing for the final year of Bachelor's degree or awaiting results, confirming completion of degree requirements by a stipulated date with required percentage. A proforma is available for this.
