Malaysian and Uzbek food might be an unlikely pair but that’s just some of what you can find at Queensway Market in Bayswater, London. The market, otherwise known as Queensway Computer Market, is tucked away near Hyde Park. It’s an area that’s popular with tourists and students but you’d never know that some of the best Malaysian food and Uzbek dishes are hidden here!

Normah’s Malaysian may be hard to find (they’ve even made a video showing you how to get there!) but it’s worth roaming (pardon the pun!!) the confusing hallways just to try the laksa! Laksa, a spicy noodle soup that’s popular in Malaysia, is thick, creamy and coconut-y!
My favourite dish, however, was the roti. There is NOTHING better in this world than good bread, and this is one of the best. It’s flaky, light and chewy. The noise it makes needs to be remixed into the next hit song, because I could listen to it ALL DAY. The owner, Normah, is lovely and came around to chat to everyone who was eating. It was the perfect end to the meal.

Queensway Market isn’t only hiding Malaysian food, I also tried Uzbek corner, an Uzbek restaurant that serves great central Asian dishes. We ordered the Uzbek classic, plov, and even though we weren’t hungry had to also try some dumplings and samsa. If you want to try Uzbek food in London (and who wouldn’t?!) this is a great and central place to do it.

Places like Queensway Market are one of the reasons I love London so much! All around the city there is amazing food hidden in plain sight and you just have to wander through some deserted corridors to find it!
