My second video in this Costa Rica travel series with ‪@TheAwkwardTourists‬ and ‪@trovatrip‬ take us to La Fortuna, Costa Rica to swim the La Fortuna Waterfall! There are over 500 steps down (and back up!) so this is not for the faint of heart. Mom is almost 70 years old and climbed this hike like a boss.

Climbing down will give you lovely views of the lush green landscape and the waters of "the fortune" waterfall are very cold, but lovely, on these hot Costa Rican days. I'd wear snug water shoes with grip, pack a good amount of sunscreen, and a towel to dry off with.

Luckily they have areas to stop and rest on the climb up so take the time to sit and take in the jungle views. Be sure to take plenty of water since there aren't any offerings down at the waterfall base.

After you make the hike and swim, grab a snack at the restaurant and see the orchids if they are in bloom. La Fortuna Waterfall also has a butterfly garden to take a light stroll inside.

Later we hop on a boat ride at Jungle River Safari down the Tarcoles River outside Jaco, Costa Rica to see a lot of crocodiles, as well as other wildlife like Scarlet Macaws and an anteater. Then we end our day down at the beach town of Jaco where we will pick up this adventure in the next video with zip lining!
