Surprisingly, the survey highlights a correlation between the decline in abortion rights and an increase in birth control usage. Thirteen percent of singles under 50 report using condoms more frequently, and 7% of women state they opted for an IUD, while 5% of men underwent vasectomies in response to the Supreme Court ruling.

The survey's findings reflect a growing connection between abortion access and individuals' sex lives, offering insights into a relatively underexplored area of research. Concerns about the end of federal abortion protections have surged, with 87% of surveyed singles noting its impact on their sex and dating lives, compared to 78% the previous year.

The data suggests that conservative efforts to influence sexual behavior may be making headway, as evidenced by the heightened impact on singles' lives following the Roe v. Wade reversal. However, paradoxically, the survey also indicates an increase in contraceptive measures, challenging assumptions about the effectiveness of such policies.

As the political landscape intertwines with reproductive rights, the survey notes the significance of the abortion issue in electoral decisions. Vice-president Kamala Harris' recent tour highlights the potential impact on the 2024 elections, with 70% of singles stating that a candidate's stance on abortion will influence their vote. Women, in particular, express stronger sentiments, with 26% indicating that abortion will entirely determine their vote.

While the survey underscores the potential influence of singles as a large and often overlooked demographic, it also reveals a level of disengagement, with 14% expressing no intention to vote in the upcoming election. This presents an opportunity for politicians to consider relationship status and singlehood in their engagement strategies, recognizing the substantial impact this demographic can have in shaping political outcomes.
